About Us

A.K. Rikk’s, founded by Rick Gaby, started in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the 1980s. It was located in an unassuming strip mall off 28th Street and was the place to be if you wanted of-the-moment designer brands such as Zegna, Armani and Hugo Boss.

A.K. Rikk’s is in the story business

Our store engages in a time-honored exchange of stories where you tell us about yourself, your life, what you need, crave and desire. We, in turn, trade with a story of our own. Stories tied to products, brands, lines, treasures and specialty items that mimic the magic you’re seeking. We are selling the stories and dreams that thread your lives.

We are a luxury boutique, a lifestyle collective, and a staff of people built for hope. What does hope have to do with shopping? Quite a bit.

Our buying team hops on plane after plane, from Milan to Paris, to show you the world through fashion–and style is how you make it your own. We are collectors of beautiful things that perfume your life with hopeful abundance.

What’s at the heart of every good story? Connection. It’s why we carve out so many areas inside the store where we can meet you where you are in life and connect with you from privatized shopping suites, a refreshment bar, the in-house tailor shop, a children’s play haven and a men’s made-to-measure suit room.
