Today as a part of our Behind the Seams with A.K. Rikk's series, we would like to introduce you to one of our E-Commerce Stylists, Greg! Greg has been with the A.K. Rikk's family since November! We asked Greg about his favorite brand and what makes him tick in his Behind the Seams with A.K. Rikk's Interview!
How did you discover A.K. Rikk's?
When I was searching for internships last summer, my friends told me about A.K. Rikk's. I have always loved fashion so I knew that I wanted to pursue an internship in the fashion industry, when I found out A.K. Rikk's was looking for summer interns I immediately knew I wanted to pursue it!
What is your favorite part about working at A.K. Rikk's?
My favorite part about working at A.K. Rikk's is seeing all of the new product and learning. I love that I always have the opportunity to learn, whether its from one of my co-workers or on my own. I love that I can constantly evolve in my position with the knowledge I gain here. Everyday brings something new!
What was your initial impression of A.K. Rikk's when you started as an intern?
The space was so big and there was so much product- I was in awe when I first walked in. Once I met all of the staff I was instantly welcomed and felt right at home. Everyone was super friendly, and that was awesome.
What is your favorite brand? Why?
I have so many favorites but I would have to say, Stone Island, because its a classic brand. I love the way it's all structured- the patterns they use to make their garments are crazy! We just got new Stone Island tees in that I am obsessed with!
What can we find you doing if you aren't at work?
Skateboarding! I am usually skating any chance I get, whether its downtown Grand Rapids or at Clemente skate park.
What is your favorite piece in your closet that you couldn't live without?
My Calabasas track pants are my favorite piece at the moment! They are super comfortable and great, I love the track pant trend right now.
What's a fun fact about yourself?
When I was little I went sledding at school, everyone was sledding on their stomachs so I wanted to join in. I dove head first into the hill and ended up hitting ice- I had to get stitches inside my lip! You can still see them!
That concludes this Behind the Seams with A.K. Rikk's Interview! Next time you stop in-store be sure to say "hello" to Greg!
