Behind the Seams with A.K. Rikk's: Meet Taranjeet Chawla

Today, as a part of our Behind the Seams with A.K. Rikk's series, we would like to introduce you to Finance Manager Taranjeet Chawla. Taranjeet is one of the latest additions to the A.K. Rikk's family and we are so happy to have her! Get to know her better and learn a few fun facts such as her favorite junk food: buffalo wings.

What is your favorite part of working at A.K. Rikk's so far? 

The positive family atmosphere!

What have you learned this week at work?  

I’ve learned about managing vendor invoices and vendor correspondence as well as working on NetSuite and the many processes that the team follows. 

What did you go to school for/what degree do you hold? 

I have an MBA with dual specialization in Human Resources & Finance from the Symbiosis Center of Distance Learning in India as well as a Masters of Commerce from Annamalai University in India and a Bachelors of Commerce from Delhi University, India.

What is the first thing you notice about a person? 

I notice their eyes.

What was your first  job? 

I was an Account Executive at Udaivilas Resorts, A 7-Star Property by Oberoi Group of Hotels in India.

When you're not at work, what could we find you doing? 

Sketching. It’s for fun and relaxation. There’s not a specific subject, just pencil art. 

If you were an inanimate object, what would you be? 

A meaningful book. 

What would your last meal be? 

It’s called Gol Gappe or water balls stuffed with potato, chickpeas and spicy mint water. I love it because it's spicy and tangy.

What’s your biggest pet peeve? 

If I’m not getting enough rest.

What would be your spirit animal? 

A rabbit. Because they are delicate, cute and a little naughty.

What’s your most prized possession? 

My son.

You can have an unlimited supply of one thing for the rest of your life, what is it?

What’s the one book that changed your life? 

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. It taught me the secret to manifestation by thinking positive during the most difficult times.
