Today, as a part of our Behind the Seams with A.K. Rikk's series, we would like to introduce you to our Administrative Assistant, Nicole Bollnow! Nicole is one of the latest additions to the A.K. Rikk's family and we are happy to have her! During her Behind the Seams interview, we asked her what brought her into the Fashion Industry and what makes her tick.
What brought you to A.K. Rikk's?
Last year, as a part of the Fashion program at Kendall College of Art and Design, our class took a tour of the A.K. Rikk’s with Ben Tobar! I remember coming in and being in awe of the open and friendly environment. After the tour, I started following the store on Instagram and loved seeing all the updates. My favorite was the March Madness Style Competition!
What brought you to the Fashion Industry?
I’d say my interest in fashion started with Project Runway. I loved watching all the creative potential that the industry has to offer, in a variety of positions, from designing to buying.
Who is your style icon?
90's Jennifer Aniston - and current Jennifer Aniston honestly. She wears a lot of minimal, timeless pieces, which I’m all about. Jeans and a t-shirt is always my go-to outfit, but I love looking to Jennifer Aniston for inspiration, when I feel like stepping out of my usual look!
What brand are you loving right now?
I love Alice & Olivia! I'm really drawn to the bright colors and patterns throughout the collection.
What's at the top of your bucket list?
My fiancé and I are both big baseball fans, so we're planning to visit the MLB stadiums together. This summer we're starting close to home with Comerica and Wrigley, then we'll start making our way around the country with a park or two every year.
What could we find you doing when you're not at work?
You would probably find me at a baseball game - I love the Whitecaps! I also love to be outdoors and explore the different breweries in Grand Rapids!
This concludes this Behind the Seams with A.K. Rikk's interview. Next time you stop in, be sure to say 'hello' to Nicole!
