Summer is coming to end and we’re ready for fall (at least for fall fashion that is!) The question is, what to wear in these fluctuating temps? Comfy fall pieces look
oh so good on the racks but sometimes mixing and matching fall pieces with summer pieces can be tricky! We want to show you how to transition them into your fall wardrobe seamlessly. We asked Jordan Hill and Morgan Wallace to help us out with our predicament and they came up with six great suggestions and outfits.
Morgan’s staple item is a Chloe Denim jumper dress that is very versatile. For those warmer days she paired it with a white T-shirt and platform sneakers. Morgan says “the look is feminine yet sporty and could even be worn taking the kids to the park, heading to the farmer’s market, or even back to college.” The great part about this jumper is “it can be layered, it can be a dress, vest, or a jumper!”

As the days cool down and you want to transition the denim jumper to cooler weather, Morgan suggests pairing it with a long sleeve blouse which dresses the denim up for a meeting or happy hour. She also added a leather and suede black handbag by Chloe which can be held by the gold ring handles or worn with the long shoulder strap. To transition the outfit further Morgan added the silver metallic block heel Chelsea boot by Rag and Bone. Together the outfit feels, “more sophisticated, a little 70’s, and fashion forward for going out with friends, brunch, or travelling, even to places like New York or Europe in the fall.”

As the weather gets even colder Morgan suggests adding a pair of tights, blue or black, and a piece of outerwear. She suggests the Harris Wharf boiled wool A-line jacket in navy. “It pulls the outfit together and goes back to the blues in the denim and helps pop the gold in the blouse, plus it has a hood,” she says. “It’s hard to find a structured coat with a hood, it’s playful and quirky.” I mean, what more could you ask for in an outfit? It’s got it all!”

Jordan’s summer look includes Saturday slides with no socks, cuffed distressed Nudie jeans and a Saturdays lightweight stretch cotton tee. Don’t put away your distressed jeans quite yet, they are staying in style this fall! Jordan recommends throwing on this Eleventy jacket for the cooler weather to transition this outfit into fall. This jacket is the everyday jacket. It is made out of wool and lined with satin to ensure it’s comfy on your skin even when wearing a tee-shirt. You can wear this everyday, everywhere.

Jordan’s second outfit includes Common Project mid tennis shoes, PT01 cloud cotton pant in navy, Billy Reid Henley lightweight top, Paul and Shark chambray shirt, and a Orciani belt. A light chambray shirt is perfect for all seasons, you can roll up the sleeves in the summer and layer it in the fall. To transition this outfit into fall, Jordan recommend swapping out the mid sneaker for Common Projects chukka waxed suede boot in sand. This boot can easily be dressed up or down. Its versatile and can be beat up due to it’s gum bottoms which is the same material the military wears in the desert.

Jordan’s third outfit is a four season sport coat by Brunello Cucinelli, Isaia dress shirt, PT01 pant, Zegna belt and Chelsea boot. This outfit is the new business casual. To transition this piece to fall he recommends adding a Peter Millar sweater over the dress shirt. Guys don’t be afraid to wear a sweater under your sports coat, it is a great way to incorporate a pop of color into your look and add extra warmth through those chillier days.
