Today, as part of our Behind the Seams with A.K. Rikk's, we would like to introduce you to Hilary Powsner. Hilary holds the Administrative Assistant title and helps out our buying team. Her duties include entering vendor orders from incoming products so they can be received correctly and is the first point of contact in assisting customers over the phone.
What initially drew you to A.K. Rikk's?
The vibes are immaculate and everyone is so nice. I wanted to be a part of the magic!
What is your favorite part of working at A.K. Rikk's so far?
The amount that we laugh. Everyone works their butts off but we do it together and we have fun.
What have you learned this week at work?The complexities of entering differing clothing items and styles. Detail orientation is KEY!
What is your favorite brand at A.K. Rikk’s?Valentino. Everything the House puts out makes me weak in the knees.
When you're not at work, what could we find you doing?
Enjoying a happy hour with my best girlfriends, hanging out with my dog Gordy and my fiancé Jeff, cheering on Michigan Football and working out–I am a Peloton JUNKIE. I love to be on the go. If it’s a Sunday night (I save those for the weekly reset), it’s all about my skin care routine and chill music.
Would you rather have more time or more money?
More money. I have the gift of always wanting the most expensive piece in the room.
How do you blow off stress?Working out, talking it out or a glass (or bottle) of red wine.
If you were an inanimate object, what would you be?A jukebox. I am constantly singing along to whatever is on or else I am just singing to fill the silence!
What was your best vacation ever?
The Twister Museum in Wakita, Oklahoma. Twister is my favorite movie of all time and to go see where it was filmed and take part in all the fandom around the movie, it may be dorky, but it was AWESOME!
Who would you say is your number one fashion inspiration?
I'm constantly drawing from people around me and if I see something I like I am not shy to compliment it and find out how I can get that look too! I'm inspired by my best friend Sarah and I always love looks from both Bethany and Lexi who work here. My Nana taught me the importance of a red lip and if all else fails I look to Hollywood and Pinterest.
Are you a sneakers or heels kind of girl?It depends on the vibe of the outfit. Since I am mostly seated at my job, I have the luxury of stylish footwear!
What’s the last nice thing you bought for yourself?I am getting married in just over three months so I guess my wedding dress.
You have to sing karaoke. What song do you pick?“You're So Vain” by Carly Simon or “Downtown” by Macklemore.
Any podcasts you are listening to?
I listen to Dateline NBC, Cold Cases, Disappeared, My Favorite Murder (are you catching a theme here?). I also love The Financial Feminist, Smartless and any podcasts by the Vanderpump Rules Crew (Lala and Stassi in particiular).
