Today as a part of Behind The Seams with A.K. Rikk's series we’d like to introduce our Data Analyst, David Wiers. He has been a part of our family for two years. David is an important member of Heart of House as he is always on the pursuit to gain and share knowledge with our team, which is a direct reflection of our Core Values at A.K. Rikk's. He has always known in one way or another he would be in the fashion industry - as he explains, "What I do as a data analyst is to collect, process, and perform statistical analyses, which are very black and white but I work in a world such as fashion that is based on emotions, feelings, and perspectives. I find there is an interesting balance because there is a science behind business but there is not a science behind style." Get to know who David's style muses are and his perspective on fashion through a series of questions in this Behind The Seams with A.K. Rikk's interview.
What influences your fashion style?
There are so many different things that hold influence on my style. What influences my style is feelings - the feeling of exclusivity and rarity in my style. I am attracted to the feeling of wearing something that causes people to stop and think. For example - street style intrigues me because everyone’s definition of street style is different. That’s the beauty of it, no one can define street style. Every street is different and every street has it’s own story.
What about fashion, style, and clothes intrigue you?
I like the power of impressions. With fashion you express who you are, the confidence that you carry, and the strength of your ambition. Everyone in the world participates in fashion in one way or another. It brings people together from all across the world by connecting cultures.
Who is your style muse?
I do not have one person that embodies what I believe my style to align with, but I admire many and find inspiration from each of them - the hair of Mariano di Viao, the street style of Ronnie Feig, the classic elegance of Tom Ford, and the youth of Lucky Blue.
What are you favorite ways of increasing knowledge and personal development?
I learn in many different areas in life, whether from my peers and mentors or the constant reading of books. Knowledge is endless but it's the uncommon knowledge that I favor.
Words to live by?
Be silent and talk with actions.
That concludes this Behind the Seams with A.K. Rikk's series interview. Next time you shop with us make sure you say "Hi" to David!
